Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Arado Business Journal (ABJ) invites original manuscripts in English or Arabic that comply with the following requirements:

1. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

All submissions must include the following sections in both English and Arabic:

  • Cover Page: Title (18pt Bold) | Author(s) with full affiliations | ORCID iD | Email | Phone | Conflict of interest declaration
  • Abstract: 250 words max | Structured format (Objectives – Methodology – Results – Conclusions) | Bilingual (Arabic + English)
  • Keywords: 5–6 terms aligned with Scopus/Web of Science terminology
  • Body Sections: Introduction → Literature Review → Methodology → Results → Discussion → Conclusion & Policy Recommendations
  • References: APA 7th Edition | Minimum 25 sources | ≥50% from Scopus/WoS-indexed journals

2. FORMATTING SPECIFICATIONS

  • Font: Sakkal Majalla | Body: 14pt | Main Headings (H1): 16pt Bold | Subheadings (H2): 14pt Bold Italic
  • Line Spacing: 1.2× | Paragraph indent: 0.8 cm
  • Page Size: A4 | Margins: Top 4.3 cm | Bottom 3.2 cm | Left/Right 2.5 cm
  • Maximum Length: 25 pages (including references and appendices)
  • Tables/Figures: Editable formats (Excel / .eps / PDF); numbered sequentially with descriptive captions

3. ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Originality: ≤20% similarity score (Turnitin — excluding references)
  • ORCID iD: Mandatory for all authors
  • Author Contributions: CRediT taxonomy required
  • Conflicts of Interest: Must be declared on the cover page
  • Human/Animal Studies: IRB approval number must be provided

4. REQUIRED SUBMISSION FILES

  • Anonymous manuscript (no author-identifying information)
  • Cover letter highlighting research significance and Scopus relevance
  • Signed Copyright Transfer Form (CC-BY-NC 4.0)
  • Turnitin similarity report (≤20%)
  • Editable source files for all tables and figures

5. ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGE (APC)

  • Submission: Free of charge
  • Post-acceptance APC: USD 200
  • Full waivers available for authors from low-income countries — contact: abj@arado.org

  3. All data, figures, and content are properly attributed and free from plagiarism.
  4. All potential conflicts of interest have been fully disclosed.
  5. Where applicable, ethical approval (IRB) has been obtained and the approval number is included in the manuscript.
