Abstract

This study aimed to assess the entrepreneurial culture in Palestinian universities by analyzing four dimensions of the GLOBE model: Performance Orientation, Future Orientation, Institutional Collectivism, and Humane Orientation. It examined the influence of university type and gender on these cultural perceptions, while determining the relative impact of each dimension on the entrepreneurial culture within the university community.

The study employed a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing an electronic questionnaire administered to a purposive sample of 384 individuals from three university types (traditional, polytechnic, governmental). Instrument validity and reliability were verified (α=0.91), and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-tests, ANOVA with post-hoc tests, and multiple regression analysis.

Results revealed that all four cultural dimensions were highly present in Palestinian universities. Significant differences were found based on university type, with traditional and polytechnic universities scoring higher on Institutional Collectivism and Humane Orientation compared to governmental institutions. No significant gender-based differences were observed except in Humane Orientation. Multiple regression analysis confirmed all four dimensions as significant predictors of entrepreneurial culture, with Performance Orientation and Future Orientation emerging as the most influential factors.

The study concludes that Palestinian universities possess a solid foundation for entrepreneurial culture development, though with varying strengths across dimensions. A strategic shift toward performance-oriented and future-focused policies is recommended. This research contributes to global academic literature by applying the established GLOBE framework to the understudied Palestinian context, bridging a crucial research gap and providing evidence-based insights for policymakers to strategically foster entrepreneurial culture.
